Topic: Keeping BBQ ribs juicy on the grill | |
---|---|
I cant stand when someone cooks BBQ ribs and they end up all dry.
Here is my patented way of keeping them juicy, not for the faint of heart. -Wash your pork ribs of course before starting. -Rub the ribs down with butter -Dash of salt and pepper -Cover in aluminium foil Pop on grill place cover on grill and block off air to limit your heat. This will slow roast the ribs in the butter. This doesnt take long, you just want them well browned. Make sure to have the alliuminum foil fold side up so you can pull apart the foil to a) check to make sure they have been browned all over. b) so as not to let the butter drip out of the foil. Once you have half cooked the ribs then spatter on your fav BBQ sauce and pull them off the aluminium foil and on to the grill directly. They will start to cook fast to again cover and blocked your holes to slow the fire down, this is important because the butter juice will lite the fire UP, if they is enough air available to burn. Flip re baste BBQ sauce of choice till done cooking. This method of hald cooking ribs in foil is the funk for keeping them moist, and with the butter its to die for flavor!!! |

This is my recipe for tender ribs- you cant beat it. It takes a couple of extra steps but well worth it!!
First of all I cut my ribs into sections and put in a large pan cover them with water and simmer for 45 minutes no salt in the water it makes meat tough. Once they've boiled I lay them on a baking pan covered in tin foil- season with garlic powder salt and pepper and bake for another 45 minutes. Then I make my own bbq sauce and cover them on one side. When I lay them sauce side down on the grill I then cover the other side with sauce. I always make xtra sauce for grilling and dippin'..Everyone compliments me on these ribs -I have seen many ways having worked in many restaraunts over the years but this way is by far the most scrumptious! BBQ sauce. Mix together according to your taste. Ketchup, terriyaki sauce. a slash of soy sauce, dk brown sugar, salt pepper onion powder and garlic powdre. stir and Wah lah Dinner is served! |

Trying wrapping the ribs in heavy duty foil, pouring a can of beer over and bbq until beer evaporates. The ribs will melt in your mouth.

I usually make ribs in my smoker.
Wash ribs , remove membrane from back of slab, cover both sides with rib rub, I'll use store bought or make some, let it soak in when the spices are wet its ready . Place in smoker, make sure there is plenty of water in the bottom pan, smoke with hickory wood for 6-12 hours at 200 - 250 degrees. Cover with BBQ sauce if you like when almost done or put it on the side |
