There’s a little place I like to stop
to stretch my legs and do other things,
like lettin' my worries drop.
Its door slants off to the right
And the rest of it
Kinda’ leans to the left;
but after hours in the saddle,
it’s sure a welcome sight.
There’s a hitchin’ post just outside
for me to park my horse.
I enter in and sit a spell
and contemplate many things.
Now, cowboys learn the hard way;
it’s just the way things are
and many horse has ran off
once your pants are past your knees.
So tie the reins securely,
don’t be in too much of a hurry
'cuz leavin’ before you’re finished
can be such an awful thing.
Another thing to consider
before sittin' on the throne,
take a stick and poke around
to be sure you’re in there alone.
‘Cuz squirrels up here have got a lot of guts
and in their simple little minds
(well to put it bluntly),
nuts are simply nuts!
