"The Hopi and Mayan elders DO NOT prophesy that everything will come to an end. Rather, this is a time of transition from one World Age into another. The message they give concerns our making a choice of how we enter the future ahead. Our moving through with either resistance or acceptance will determine whether the transition will happen with cataclysmic changes or gradual peace and tranquility. The same theme can be found reflected in the prophecies of many other Native American visionaries from Black Elk to Sun Bear." - Joseph Robert Jochmans

scared If the Mayans said it, then it must be truescared

The mayans (imho) built a menomonic computer with the technology they had available.

and their calendar ended simply because they could not caluclate it further with that technology.

Legends spring forth when one assumes.

Legends grow when others accept that assumption.

The mayans did say there would be changes in 2012 a new awakening for the world. No one knows when it will end except God and he hasn't told me. Of course the mayans forgot to say that change is constant so go figure will have to wait and see.

Hard to say where the first doomsdayer came up with 'the end of the world" concept...could be any radical, extremists or group.
