Do you think Internet access should be granted based on ones IQ. Cyberspace is the new wild west, and the loons are running the asylum. I was happy to see that model win her lawsuit against Google. Perhaps if people are faced with the chance of their identity being revealed, they will think twice before they post nonsense. be seeing you

Your 'ideal' internet world sounds scarier to me than the real one.

But there's no doubt that the internet has given an outlet for ignorance. It's a mixed bag, but I think the value it brings outweighs the harm.

We have The Military to protect our Country. We have the police to protect our streets. I am no fan of Big Brother, but I do think The Internet does need to be a bit more policed. The Internet is the first medium where loons can run wild, with little or no supervision. If a website knows it can be sued,it may keep a closer eye on some of the more moronic posters. be seeing you

I do find it scary that the internet is quickly becoming the primary source of information for many. And having seen some of these 'sources' it's a little bit unsettling.

It used to be you got most of your information from the television and newspapers. Whether you thought it was slanted to the left or to the right you could usually count on the information to be largely factual and then factor out whatever bias you discerned. However so much of what you get on the internet is 'false' at best and ignorant at worst. And yet it is accepted as fact by those that want to believe it. That is scary.

My hope is that people begin to understand that they can't accept what they read on the internet as factual. But it has astounded me, over the last number of years, what people will believe.

Out of all honesty they should keep a closer eye on what is posted within each site. There are too many of them that they can run a muck on. People should be accountable for what they do or say. Just because they sit behind a screen it should not give them the power to defame others without being accountable for what they say. With the old saying but but...........it's just the internetnoway

 This is why I think the Google lawsuit is a victory for common sense. It will show websites and posters that you cannot post anything, and if you do,there may be a price to pay. be seeing you
