Well they say three strikes you are out. So; after my third guy who turned out to be fake from here, I think I am probably not going to bother with the dateing thing and just enjoy the "community" as a pass time. I am sure there are nice guys out there but it is just too painful to stir up my feelings for nada.

I am not telling any secrets here, but I peeked through the windows first at the restaurant, just to see if she was as pictured in her profile. She is much prettier than her pictures, and has more personality than could be conveyed in her profile or in the threads.

I met Warmachine and we are friends like we were before we met. It was nice to put a face to the words.

i met two guys from my area, one just for a brief lunch, the other we hung out for a while but it just wasnt right, but i have some great pals i talk to on the phone and email from here. i really think mingle has some truly wonderful people!!!

I have one horror story from a guy who is no longer on this site.

We chatted for 3 months online and via the phone.

He posted pix and we sent cell phone pix.

He is in the navy, stationed 8 hours away, and has to put in for leave so I said I would make the drive to see him.

He said he was 5.11 -- he was 5.8

I am 5.11 barefoot. I had little heels on and stood about 6 inches taller than him!

We talk about splitting expenses before I came down; he said he had plenty and not to worry - He had ONE dollar when I got there! Thankfully, I have my own money. I treated dinner, and then we played pool at a cool bar that had live music. I bought drinks too.

He had no clue where to go for dinner. He had been stationed there for a year and could have looked online for ideas. Nope! We drove around aimlessly. I was a little irritated by this point but I kept smiling so he wasn't too uncomfortable. We are adults after all.

I decided to just crash there. I wasn't going to try and drive 8 hours home after a long day and now a little drinking. I grabbed a blanket and sunk into his chair. He sooo tried to put the moves on me! He cluelessly put the moves on me because -- almost as soon as we met -- I made it clear I didn't feel the chemistry (but let's make the best of it).

I was up and gone by 7am ... high tailed it past the base gate ... I grabbed coffee and gas and laughed for the first 10 miles.

There are more details but that's enough. Basically, he fibbed with just about everything. In the big picture, not too much of a horror story but nonetheless.

Yes, I met a real player on here. Don't know what his actual age was, but he lied about it and what else who knows. My guess is he was 56+, no biggy, but he had that he was 48. Evidence that some men never mature.

It was a fugging nightmare... she was at least 100lbs. more than her profile picture, was wearing a wig in her profile picture, and had neraly zero hair when met in person.
