There is an unpleasant side effect of the anti-smoking laws. Everyone is going outside the bar or the restaurant to smoke. Only the businesses are not providing recepticals for the butts. Nor is the city. The result is that the sidewalks and and the cracks between the cobblestones are getting filled with butts. It looks terrible.

I am a smoker and I hardly ever throw my butt on the ground. I have even been known to knock off the fireball and stick a butt in my pocket.......

If there's nowhere for me to throw the butt, I do what I was taught years ago in the AF, I field dress the butt an find a trashcan.

MOST people do not even use cigarette recepticals when they are there anyway! Where I work they are there for the smokers.. but people just don't use them. They prefer to litter the ground instead.
