roamingorator-you think i'd like that? being a man who doesnt read romance novels but obviously loved catcher in the rye? bc i could use a good book

Oh yeah, I gave it to my brother to read. It's a very good book, it takes place over the course of a few hundred years and it has the god Pan in it as an extra. You can't go wrong with Tom Robbins as far as I've read. Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas is another good book of his that is on the fringe of a romance novel, and it is also very excellent.

If you just want a good book, I recommend either "Lust Lizard of Meloncholy Cove" or "A Dirty Job" by Christopher Moore, they are both hillarious and well written, with a love intrest so its just a story.

And for all on here, just RO is okay for short.

Hey if you've got another book by either of those guys that's any good let me know. I thought Fury was way to tedious and too hard to follow in some cases. Catcher I read when I was 37, I probably would have enjoyed it more if I'd of read it in high school like I was supposed too. Now Sallinger's writing style was great, so if he's got another good one let me know.

well---i dont own another good faulkner book, and honestly? i only read him in college.......but...salinger? franny and zooey was good, not as good..but good...but yeah at 37...maybe i see your point, but i could see myself reading it at 37....its the way he wrote it. the adjectives...the short sentences...the anger...the description of the places and the timeline...i loved it

Okay I shouldn't say this.....but I will....

The most romantic book I've ever read is The Catcher in the Rye

lol!!!

nice.

although.. it did change the course of my life.

Am I the only one that finished that book and went "theres some time I'll never get back." Of course I think that Faulkner's Sound and Fury should be the solid base of any good book burning (now there's a piece of trash that keeps getting reprinted)

LOL!!! no you're not the only one. i'm just not like you. but its cool. i mean its just a matter of how you take the books. salinger isn't really a fantastic writer. he produced few books and yet they hale him as a god. LOL

however that specific book.. man. just when i was feelin outcasty.

only a few books by lackey are romantic in any way. the others are straight fantasy.
