Topic: As The Sun Goes Down | |
---|---|
On a warm summer's night,
As the sun is dipping low, I ride up to the rim To catch the nighttime show. The shadows grow long And darkness soon will be. I close my eyes and listen To the sounds I cannot see. The eagle screams As he prepares to settle down. The coyote howls a different tune, A crooning lament for his prey. The nighthawks are coming to life After sleeping through the day. Down by the creek, Bullfrogs and crickets Chirp their lullaby to the sun. I don’t know much about this old world But when the day is done I can promise you this, If you close your eyes, Open your ears, And listen to the world, As the sun goes down. |
