meal of the evening. Dinner or supper? In England lunch is dinner and Dinner is Tea so I am eating my dinner means I am eating lunch and I am having my tea means I am eating dinner Supper is a late snack late before bed like a slice of toast and a nice cuppa tea. Oh I miss it

If you lived in the country it was the noon meal, if you were city folk like we were, dinner was the meal you had after daddy got home from work. (boy does that date me! LOL) I think it is a geographical term. I also think eating the heavier meal earlier in the day is better for you. |

I think it's usually dinner.......but sometimes supper. I'll have to take note of what we actually call it.....

i always thought dinner was more elegant, dining room, later-evening eating, whereas supper was quite casual and earlier in the evening, and held in the kitchen. What Paper Said... With One Acception... If I were to ask someone out to eat an evening Meal with me... no matter the hour... I would prolly Sound like a Redneck if I asked them to Join me for Supper. |
