i know he's a genius and don't deny that in any way shape or form.

what i do say is that i can't handle watching inverviews with him or even listening to commentary because the man's all over the place.

i actually think there are other directors more talented than him but he's just always in the limelite.

thats honestly my opinion..

i enjoy most of his movies..

except jackie brown. that was a real pile.

but i just can't handle watching him live. i want to shoot him with a tranquilizer dart. :D

I've tried listening to him on commentaries- Hostel, and his commentary on Hot Fuzz with Edgar Wright. The guy's a spaz, obnoxious, and he couldn't seem to make a complete sentence without dropping the F-bomb. I don't mind cussing, but when it's constant it gets old fast. The funny thing is Eli Roth started cussing along with Quentin, yet when he does commentaries without him, Eli rarely cusses, Edgar was the same way.

I also saw him on a British talks show on BBCAmerica- the host would ask him one simple question, 5 minutes later and Quentin still hadn't gotten to the point.

I enjoy his moves for what they are, and I pretty much have his same tastes in film, but I don't think I'd ever want to talk movies with him, well unless I didn't plan on doing any talking.

EXACTLY!! you explained that a hell of alot better than i did. but yeah thats what i meant LOL

Don't get me wrong. I like most of QT's films. But, he really hasn't done anything unique. He just rips off the best bits of other films and puts them all together in one film. He's run out of ideas now and is just going for splatter, blood and guts. Horror movies always make money.

But, if I ever get my screenplay written he's the guy I'd want to direct it.

seriously? i watched a special on TCM with him ... private screenings interview and he was all ADHD tangent king. dude couldn't get a word in edgewise let alone ask the questions.

it was an hour long monologue of Quentin's childhood.

I wanted to shoot myself.

its amazing the dude is a directing genius.

but to me...

even that is fading.

totally agree with that. He's kinda like that in every interview I've ever seen him give. It's either random tangents or one big long self-congratulatory verbal handjob. That said, Pulp Fiction has got to be one of my favorite movies of all time. I think I've watched that flick more than anyone really should.
