Public Option is to private insurance as US Post Office is to FedEX and UPS, says Oval Office Occupant!!

http://www.breitbart.tv/obama-its-the-post-office-thats-always-having-problems/

In his own words, Obama compares the public option (as that's the name by which it goes this week) for health care coverage to the US Post Office, saying that UPS and FedEX do just fine, (competing w/ government), "It's the Post Office that's always having problems"

In such a statement, the President unwittingly undoes his own credibility in support for his own healthcare initiative.. If this had been a real town hall meeting, he would have been laughed off the stage! Good thing they stacked the "meeting" with SEIU members and brownshirts from the local ACORN office or this could have gotten UGLY for El Presidente..

Argue with your own president, singlepayer/universal health care/Obamacare advocates.. please.. let's hear it..

Obama is doing what he said he would do, he is trying to get a national healthcare on the table for Americans. I do not see anything wrong with that.

Obama did not write the current health care bill being voted on so we cannot even blame him for the damn thing.

Healthcare is needed in this country.

I cannot support the current bill though, it is not right, I am hoping they will hash out the specifics and come to a conclusion that leaves out the unnecessary things on this bill.

" UPS and FedEX do just fine, (competing w/ government), "It's the Post Office that's always having problems" He admits that its a risky move. If the Post Office is having problems, why do people think health care will be any different?

WE do have health care. I guarantee you that if you walk into any ER in America with a broken leg (ok maybe you'll have to hop) and you'll get treated.

hurt in a car wreck? you'll get treated.

but there is no "right" to it.. It's your responsibility to handle it yourself. Further, there exists no right for one to take from the pocket of another to provide for oneself. That's called THEFT and it's been punished universaly since the time of Hammurabi.

The Founders' Intent is quite clear on this.

"but there is no "right" to it.. It's your responsibility to handle it yourself." Tell that to the millions of illegals and welfare brats in this country1 I agree that NO ONE is entitled to anything, but democRATS have told people "not to worry...we got this!"

I caught that and expected you to jump on that. There are legitimate reasons why the post office has had problems since technology has taken the place of somethings. But that doesn't undercut what his plan, except for those that have your view. I also knew you would suspect he stacked the meeting. You are one of the people he mentioned that would never accept anything he was saying.

If you are not satisfied with his explanation then you never will be. But please remember that you don't live in this country by yourself. There are millions that like this idea, that also had some of the same concerns and asked about them respectfully.

Oh, I'm quite aware that I do not live in this country alone. Poll after poll after poll show that the majority of Americans

A)think the state of healthcare in the USA is good

B)oppose a government run healthcare system (in fact more people fear the coverage they'd get under gubment healtchcare than without it)

and

C) are insured and like the insurance they have.

Put simply: We do not want it, Sam Iam, We do not want Obama's PLAN!!!

So stop advocating theft from the pockets of some Americans so that Democrats in DC can buy votes from other Americans for the sole purpose of maintaining their own power.

Its really like listening to a recording over and over. We have healthcare just go to the ER!!!!!

Its not even worth stating that we ALL PAY FOR IT WHEN THEY DO because it just dosnt get though to you. You probably believe that the hospitals, Dr's, nurses, xray tech, receptionist and the man sweeping the floor just says " Hey they cant pay so he11 we will just do it for nothing...Hey I got a Hurricane proof home in Florida if you are interested!!!!!!

I am advocating nothing, nor to I subscribe to your views as described above. I have a healthy skepticism of both sides of this issue, but won't decide until it's all said and done. This is not the final bill and one can hope that the vies of both sides will be taken into consideration in the end, but that one side will not deprive the other side of a compromise.

I am quite shocked that he said this...

'In his own words, Obama compares the public option (as that's the name by which it goes this week) for health care coverage to the US Post Office, saying that UPS and FedEX do just fine, (competing w/ government), "It's the Post Office that's always having problems" '

... If this post is correct...

Obama has doomed his own health care...

The post office has only survived because of raising their only resource...

The tax on stamps.

(which I believe needs to be repealed) as they are not a viable government entitiy they sould not be receiving OUR money.

The medical bill also will develope problems... (how many of you really think the insurance industry won't make the changes it needs when the bill hits the streets... They have to survive cause JOBS rest on it as do SALARIES).

When it developes problems it will require TAXES to compete...

and gobble up more and more to survive... AS it has been proposed it is not a viable solution to a REAL medical problem.

But it will put taxes on future generations... Do we have THAT right...

Or is that even constitutional.

Well obviously you did not listen to the town hall today. He did not doom anything by what he said. But I'm not going to argue. Someone said today that those screaming about doom and gloom actually aren't listening to anyone but those against it. Seems to be correct if you think that one statement today would doom anything. What he said today brought me even more over to his side, though I am not completely there just yet.

and mom and pop kettle were there outside (perhaps even some inside) to take their videos of the truth.

What? Passes to that event were controlled were they not...

Who controlled them... Who chose the people that were in that area?

He still looked like he was reading a teleprompter so if one was not present someone had to be 'in-ear'... (and within 200 or so feet).

Which can only be done in a scripted environment. We just watched a hollywood production.

There is no tax on stamps. The only revenue the USPS gets is from postage. The gov does not subsodize the USPS.
The USPS has not recieved any federal money.

US Postal Service is a government entity... If we pay for stamps that is a tax...

Period.

I think this was an admission to governmental incompetence.

Do you want your healthcare run like the USPS or Amtrak?
