Are you really paying taxes if you aren't earning the money that goes to them?

Take a look at it.

From the top to the bottom and each bracket in between most if not all are paying taxes.(of one form or another).

Some more other less...

Yet one thing is perfectly clear to my eyes...

Taxation is at saturation.

Representation is little to none.

and taxation is fixin to increase inless we show resolve.

What say you?

The middle class is already sending about 30% of our income to the government as taxes. We cannot afford that and you will see more of the middle class starting to fail if taxes go any higher.

Wanna hear something scary? That's just federal taxes. Now add state taxes, sales tax, registrations, property tax, medicare, social security, medicade, etc.

The number is closer to 70% (or more) when all this is added.

And people wonder why the housing market colapsed...

Reminds me of some song words I heard once...

'the squeeze is on...'

Of course I pay my taxes. Hell I don't even try to cheat and cut corners, I'm usually happy to pay my taxes. I don't know about you all, but I have an exceptional amount of freedoms in this country. I can go all over it without papers. I can say pretty much what I want. I own several firearms. I can choose which job I have, where I live, and who I spend time with. I wasn't required to serve in the military (Thank you Jimmy Carter, who stopped the draft).

Could I use an extra 35% in my paycheck? Sure.
Could I afford to keep the road to town maintained myself? No.
Could you afford to give your children the same education (and still work yourself)? Doubtful, and we'd all learn different histories and language.
Could you afford to take care of the elderly in your family (without social security and medicare)? Highly doubtful.
Could you defend your home or person in case of fire or robbery?
Would you see criminals brought to justice in your spare time?
Would there be a medical clinic or hospital in your town without them?

The truth is we all ***** about taxes, but the only ones that truly have a right to complain are smokers. They pay twice the taxes of an average person in the same income bracket, and have no voice. Who sticks up for the smoker no one. The tobacco companies don't even stick up for them, just the ability to sell tobacco. We want to help the poor, tax smokes. Kid has a cough, tax smokes. No one cares because the are (turning to look away) smokers.

The rest of you quit whining, if you don't want to pay taxes, donate an equal amount to charity and you'll be able to work it back to zero.

Ok, inflation is a heavy tax that we, as citizens, have no way of keeping tabs on, so lets get rid of that.

I would love for most everything to be reduced to a sales tax of some sort. This way, taxes are fair, and we have control how much we are giving.

But, in the long run, it's not so much what taxes i am willing to pay, it's that i don't believe i should be donating any more than 25% to the government, total. This should also be a flat rate, no more bracket systems, that hinder advancement or discourage investments, and savings. I think it's wrong that we, as middle class americans, have to work from january until september, just to pay what we "owe" to uncle sam. This exactly, was one of the big reasons we started the revolution to beging with.

Economically, how can we improve if most of our money goes into the government? I wonder how much it would improve if everyone's income doubled... Interesting when you think about it huh?

All excellent questions. Could we survive, without medicare, or social security?

I would not be so quick to condem people's abilities to take care of oneself. Especially when taking into consideration how much money is being WASTED simply because these systems are extremely innefficient. And, this next generation, may very well find out what it was like before social security existed...

Make a thread...

Big subject.

Deserves its own discussion.

Extra 35%... start figuring in all the taxes it is way more than that... By the end of a given pay period.

Roads maintained... This is part of what government should do. A valid use of my taxes.

Education... Property taxes and such should take care of education in a local area. Fed don't need to be there and should NOT be there my children go to school in my state... No one in another state should be paying for it.
Elderly in my family are my responsibility they are after all MY family.
Defend my home or person... heh heh... 2nd amendment yall... I'm right peacful till you f' with me.

Criminals... If more people followed that second ammendment right to defend... Be a lot less of them there critters.

Hospitals... They get taxes... First I knew that... If thats the case...

WHY THE HELL WE PAYIN SO MUCH FOR THEIR SERVICES...

not sure why you included this line

""""Elderly in my family are my responsibility they are after all MY family."""""

they may be your responsibility

but they paid for their benefits

i am getting tired of those that collect medicare and social security getting accused of receiving a handout

those programs are bought and payed for and some buy and pay and never collect do to untimely death

it is getting old

tell congress to quit stealing the money in social security and pay back the money they stole in the past and it would be solvent for ever

In order to make a country a "Third World Nation" you have to break the people. Break them monetarily first. But the fact is we have been there done that. We will survive. jmo
