The housing market has bottomed out .. so they say. At this point the only fear is will you still have a job next week to pay the mortgage. So, if you have a stable job, now is the time to buy.

There are good deals right now for first time buyers. You might want to consider a foreclosure (bit of a hassle) or an auction off. Even consider a short sell, good deals just a bit more work than a traditional buy. Overall I would say go for it...eventually investors will jump on and that drives real estate up. Depends on where you are buying too, some markets are holding their own.

i see house buying as investing right now and not buying a home If you mean renting, there are a lot of people without jobs or with hours cut. Something to keep in mind. |

If I had the money, I'd buy two or three.

now is the best time in 50 years to buy a house. Prices are depressed lower than the real value of most homes
BUT now is the worst time to try to get a mortgage. Banks are not lending except to those with the most pristine credit if you can get the credit jump on it |

Yep, I wish I was in a situation right now to buy a second home (bigger and one floor plan) and get the other ready to sell at a later date. Just can't afford that second mortgage. If you have a backup plan in case you lose your job, I think it's a great time to buy.

I believe it is a buyers market, lots of good deals out there for buyers, not so much for sellers...If I could I would buy an investment property. Go for it and good luck to you!
