Freak of nature? Exceptional and provocatively profound people, who defy the parameters of societal norm. Usually they are rare and gifted, who seem to not have a commonality in the nurture/nature debate... So this person must have been born with these abilities? Yes......I believe so. A recent example is Kieran Williamson, a 6 year old boy, in the UK, who paints the most incredibly detailed water colours... Amadeus, Mozart, Picasso, Salvadore Dali, Nostradamus, Michaelangelo.... Our media likes to showcase these 'gifts', these people, often when they are quite young.....the idiot savant who can do intensely difficult mathematical and scientific equations in his head, the three year old who plays Mozart flawlessly.... on and on and on... To call these people freaks I think cast them in the wrong definitions. I see these people more as gifts of nature. |

To call these people freaks I think cast them in the wrong definitions. I see these people more as gifts of nature. Language is all it is.....'freak' may have a negative connotation for you.... for me, it doesn't. please read my interpretations of what freak of nature is to me, in the first page... |

Then meets you, and -- siuside! Coincidence?

My first thought after reading "freak of nature" was of a woman I heard about on NPR with two differant DNA. It seems before birth she was twins. But, both twins merged into one. The name of this condition is "Chimera."

No one is a freak by nature. As soon as someone looks different or has interests that most don't understand are suddenly labeled as a "freak by nature".
In the end we all have feelings and even those who are different. I am sorry for your loss Ladylid2012. One thing I do realize is that people who are extremely creative and exceptionally talented deem to be suicidal. I am not saying all of them, but many go into a stage of denial and depression. It saddens me for they help create a world more liveable in many ways. Again I am sorry for your loss and I would like to believe that when we pass away we go to a better place altogether. If it is true, well I will let everyone decide for themselves. |

I saw the strangest movie. It was made back in the thirties. The title was "Freaks" and starred the world's most popular real side show freaks. The movie was so disturbing to the audience, the movie was "canned" and banned for over thirty years and was recently (a few years ago) released on DVD.
It is like nothing else ever made. |
