When I was a young man, and wanted to see the country while making some bread, I drove a semi for a couple of years. Thier were always knuckleheads trying to play the part of badass on the CB. We all had a joke that everyone's 6'5 and weighs 250 on the radio. I never remember one guy getting out of his truck to prove what a badass he was. It all just seemed to be a combination of false bravado and wishful thinking.

I used to go on that site called webdate...and the people were so serious with no sense of humor that I ran into lots of those kinds of people. "Tough" guys show their foolishenss quite a bit and say things that down everyone else, even if no one was talking to them in the first place.

Yea, it happens everywhere. Not as much here and not as much the guys.

I have a question...in the same vein...

Guys: Does it make you feel cool to be a 'nice' guy online?

Ladies: What do you think of these guys? Are they who they say they are or just playing a 'nice' guy online?



it cuts both ways....

i think there's a difference..if he talks about what he stands for and believes in then i guess thats ok.
but if its a guy who talks to people saying he's going to beat you up or whatever with out an facts then i say he's a punk....
i know i slip at times when i get mad but damn some guys over do it....the ladies too..im not counting anyone out.
not trying to sound like an *** but its true.

you never know they really could be nice..im not calling myself a nice guy but honestly i don't know...

Even if we have our moments of bitterness sucked from us occassionally, I think you will find that the other extreme as a rule tries at least to consider other peoples feelings, and this is rarely rewarded when the nice guy's are often considered p****s with no back bone. I've made remarks today that some considered rude, although I just thought they were witty as hell designed to put some jerk in his place with a joke. I know who I am and am done concerning myself with a cynical woman or man's uneducated view of me.

I donno....I AM pretty butch...and I will kick my doggies unmercifully to prove it to you fish bellied panzies...hehehe

Snuffy....I am asking in the same vein as online tough guys...there are plenty of online 'nice' guys, who are anything but, in real time...

I am the sweetest most loving and attentive guy you would ever meet...when I am not being a callous insensitive pr*ck.

however, especially in this medium, we are veiwed as such.

those who act tough on-line......generally aren't.....

a guy who's got integrity and has got "weather" will be himself, and back up everything he says, quietly and patiently with action.
