Topic: Government Health Care - Take a # | |

that is nothing different or new... that is the way that health care is now, so that is not going to be any change. you even have to wait to get a prior authorization for treatment with the best insurance policies... really, the waiting game is nothing new...it has been going on for the 30-35 years I have been in various areas of health care, both professionally and personally... Actually health care is quite different now, if you have good insurance or money you do not take a number, you move to the head of the line. jmo Do doctors stop appointments with people to take care of those with "good" insurance or more money instead? Anytime I've gone to the doctor's office, the waiting room is full of people waiting to be called. Most of the time, appointments don't start at the time they were scheduled. ERs have a much longer wait time, too. |

Yeah, I took a number two nights ago. I took my child to the ER at the children's hospital on Sunday night around midnight. The doctor didn't see us until 4:30 in the morning. We got home around 5:30 a.m. Had a similar problem a couple years ago at our local ER. I had pleurisy which makes it rather painful to breathe. (I know this because i had this before.) Went to the ER, at about noon time. You wait two hours, go get your vital signs taken, then get sent to another waiting room where you will our paperwork. Anyhow, i waited 6 hours, didn't see a doc or a nurse, then i just left. Funny thing. I hade TriCare at the time. Meaning everything was paidfor by the U.S. government. Made no difference. |

Because i see no difference in wait between those with good health insurance, and those with no health insurance. But i do see a system that is very inefficient. What's funny is that 90% of our inefficiency (In the market, as well as healthcare) is CAUSED by government intereference. Now we want the government to be responsible for building an entirely new system? I'm not sure we fully thought that one through. |

Sorry Driven I might be a bit slow here but not sure what you are getting at. Do you think certain people should be seen first and if so who? I had pleurisy once in my early 20's it was awful, however I had a good freind that was studying holistic medicine at the time and he got me better in no time. No ER and no doctor. I was lucky because at the time I didn't know there was such a thing. I would like to see public education on natural low cost remedies for common problems, which I think would take the load off the ER and save people tons of money. Of course as much as the ER's complain, I don't know that they would want such an education that might cut them out of the loop financially. |

I though the importance of vitamins and minerals should be essential. As well as the acknowledgement seeming innocent things, such as table sugar (or any refined sugar), being toxic to our systems. "Educate and inform the masses." No, i was not saying anyone should be seen over anyone else. Just actually empathizing with Winx. My other point was, government has never done anything efficiently that i can think of. Why would we want them to take care of our health? Especially if the people coming up with the plan will never be on the plan. |
