I hear comments from civilians & people in the media all the time ..

i hardly ever hear what the people

"who are actually behind the scenes "

really have to say about anything

those men & women who are there day & night ..

those who are in the thick of it all


" They" are the people whom i admire


& respect far above All


& it is Their word that means something to me


Of Course i have great Respect for Our Policemen

& Firemen & Paramedics too by all means

& their opinions matter a lot to me too

don't ya just wish it worked that way

i have yet to talk to a military person that served on the iraqi or afghan conflict that has anything good to say about the way the publicity is handled

but the media is controled by those w/money

those w/money want ""the people"" upset and misdirected so thye can get more control of the govt

but hey .............

funny how oftentimes similar minds

tend to rub each other the wrong way at first

but then we see that we really are so much alike

I think things are WAY more factual now than it was when I served with the net and cell phones, the media would have a VERY hard time distorting too mayn facts the way they did in Nam until the last year or so, but Bush and Cheny and their thugs did a hell of a job trying with Iraq!!!

between when you served in Nam & now with the Internet & Cell phones

& there surely aren't ever any shortages of white collar thugs


but the internet & TV programs are so run by money & their financial supporters


don't you think they suppress & alter a lot of the real news


to make it more palatable & to cater to what they think we want to hear


as much as possible to keep their ratings up ???

listen to those who's intentions are good and not fear mongering,
listen to those who'd die for you so you can live and be safe.



Here is my opinion.

The media - just like many businesses - are failing due to the economic crisis, and as the crisis hits more and more businesses, the media is forced to report news, which aren't double checked for accuracy. One media picks up another' story without checking whether it's accurate and give it a few moments and another picks on it. They do not have enough staff (correspondents) to run their own news, so they have to rely on less and less sources and the sources becoming less and less accurate or even running an agenda a specific purpose, because they even taking advantage of the situation.

Not to mention, in order to generate income, they must make outrageous news in order to grab the attention of the people, and there is a huge race who could invite and hold more readers and listeners. So as the money is drying up and media outlets are struggling with making profit, the more outrageous news will become.

I'd say stay on your toes and listen to non-profit organizations and bloggers who will not try to scare or create fear of the people and talk news in a neutral tone.
