We feel that Afghanistan is a threat to us and their own people. Right now it's virtually ruled by two terrorist organizations, that being the Al Kaehda (sp) and the Taliban. What they're doing to their own people is kind of like a replay of communism in the Cold War. A lot of genocide. The only difference between that and the war with Iraq is that Iraq had a main dictator, Saddam Hussein. The leader of Afghanistan who is kind of like our allie is also pretty cool with both terrorist parties. ****ed up, I know. ****'s crazy. But that's life.

North Korea on the other hand is being dealt with right now by the UN. We're probably not going to take further actions unless we see a real threat. Even testing nukes in the ocean and killing two of our reporters seems pretty threatening, it's not enough to start WWIII. And if we went to war with North Korea, that's what it would turn into.
 Its not our concern to be worried about threats to other people. Its not out concern who is a dictator. So what if someone is a dictator.? Those arnt the reason we went into afghanistan. We have been there for years. No the Cold War wasnt about genocide. and communism isnt genocide.

I need clear answers.

Why is USA in Afghanistan?

Who is the enemy?

What is considered victory?

Is it worth the effort?

Is this a top priority, even in this economic recession?

North Korea has nuclear weapons and threatens to fire them on a weekly basis, while Afghanistan has no formal government, no nuclear weapons, and only poor goat herders who live in the mountain. Why is USA not fighting North Korea, or why not an African dictatorship in Africa (there are plenty) and finally why even consider fighting any wars 10000 miles away, while an economic recession is destroying the USA from within?

And my opinion:

I support the troops by saying, to bring them all back home.

1. Because that is where Bin Laden went to ground.
2. Bin Laden and cohorts....
3. The capture of Bin Laden.
4. No.
5. It shouldn't be.
6. I think North Korean policy is currently being handled by someone w/ dementia. This paranoid conspericy theory they cooked up at a time when we are dealing w/ economic issues and Iraq, Iran, and Afganistan sounds like it is coming from someone who has completely lost it and become very unstable.

Bin Laden? He is a Saudi Arabian.

He is not even considered the "mastermind" behind the 9/11 attacks. The FBI says, he got nothing to do with 9/11 attacks:
http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/topten/fugitives/laden.htm

Bin Laden and his cohorts? LOL. USA is fighting insurgents who oppose the US occupation, they aren't "terrorists".
Not one Afghan was on any planes. The "official" story says it even, that they were all Saudi-Arabian, Syrian, Egyptian. Not to mention the Saudi family of Bin Laden was in a good connection with Bush. They got flown out of the country , back to Saudi Arabia a day after 9/11 sept 2001.

How would you you like if China would invade USA to find the "war criminal Americans" and anybodey who fires a shot at the Chinese army is considered a "terrorist"? I know it's hard to put yourself in others' shoes.

 Good point. None of the hijackers where from Afghanistan or Iraq. So what are we doing there?laugh we were supposed to be going into afghanistan to get BinLaden but that turned out to be a failure, and we were completly lied to about Iraq and it turned out to be totally botched.

Every single country in the world, if they had a dictator, they fought off and declared freedom on their own. (think really hard how USA fought of Britain) The most thing USA could have done is to morally and perhaps offer help but the bullet stops there. Why fight other countries' wars anyway?

America was not attacked for the remainder of Bush's term and i'm thankful for that, I feel the reason for this is in the strong response that was shown. I pray that our current president is able to continue that streak. and, no i'm not being sarcastic

Trust me, Israel can take care of itself, but that would also start WWIII, which would end badly

I believe we and other nations are in Afghanistan because it has been used as a base for terrorist attacks. The members of the Hamburg Cell that carried out the 9/11 attacks were trained in Afghanistan. The nations first invaded Afghanistan to go after Al Qaeda and the Taliban, the group that protected and allowed Al Qaeda to train terrorists. Those are facts. Whether or not those facts are enough to justify an invasion is up to individuals. As for saying it is none of our business to invade a country because of the way people are treated, many people (including President Clinton) say that it was a disgrace how nations allowed the genocide in Rwanda and is currently allowing the genocide in Darfur. I recommend the reading of the book Forbidden Face. It describes how the Taliban treats its own people, as well as rapes, enslaves, and kills women simply due to their gender.

 I agree with the sentiment of what you are saying but the fact is Bush leadership failed to catch BinLaden and lied us into a war with a country that was totally unrelated to the war against terrorism. Not to mention the torturings, kidnapping and wanting to attack US civilians with the military:smile: The SOB deserves to be swinging from a rope in my opinion:smile:
