last year, my daughter developed a veeery large mass in her lymph node on the side of her neck. i took her in, since i had no clue what was going on.

first they said tuleremia...we were actually checking into children's hospital for them to put a shunt in her neck for the IV treatments...when the infectious disease specialist there said that she thought it was something else.

they tested her for nontuberculous mycoplasmic infection and sent her home; if the test came up positive they would have to cut the mass out and then treat her with IV antibiotics for a few weeks.

that was negative. the next step, they said, was cancer. we made an appointment with the ENT at children's hospital to have it removed...

the ENT felt otherwise. the mass was shrinking...and continued to. to this day, we've never figured out what was actually wrong. i was out of work on leave for over two months, doing nothing but chasing doctors with a kiddo that...at first was healthy and then became completely lethargic and funny-colored, who lay in my lap for the entire day.

THAT was easily the scariest time in my life.

i think would also be the time we almost lost my son
he had been sick a week before xmas the end of 2007 and a few days after my mom took him to the docs as to find out he had pneumonia and he was admited in the hospitol. he was in pediactrics and they rushed him into icu where he went into caradac arrest. they had 3 docs that had to revive him. not only did he have pneumonia, but issue with his heart lungs and only kidney.. he was in icu for a week and in the hospitol for 3weeks.....

When i was on Safari in Africa, and there was this orphanage which was on fire, and it was surrounded by lions. There was nobody else around to help, and the lions hadnt eaten in three weeks. The only weapon i had on me was the two inch blade in my Swiss Army knife. But i had to go for it. 16 lions later, i got to the orphanage doors, and there were a bunch of Islamic suicide arsonists in the foyer, armed with AK47's and grenades, but i told one of them that another one had been saying stuff abut his mum, and after a short argument they all started shooting eachother. I slipped out and around the back where i could get to all those kids, all 419 of them, and get them out to safety.

Shook me up that one did, for at least half hour. Nightmare.
