Never had okra. But if its a veg. I would probably like it. I love veggies! Can you make gumbo with chicken or just leave out the shrimp?
Yeap you can have chicken with it :) Always good with some sauage in it too. It is really a Louisana dish it is like a soup in restaurant but we make it a bit thicker like a stew more veggie in it Stewed Tomatoes, onion, corn, okra. you can serve it over rice. Google it or Tim might can send you the recipe :)
Well it sounds really good.
My niece made something like that once but I think she called it jambalaya or something like that. It was really good.

Jambalaya is entirely different, but just as good! Cajun food, you can't beat it! 'specially the gator!..yummy

Actually he wants to work in the administration part of athletics. He just spent a year doing an internship at the university of California at Berkeley and he really liked the San Francisco area. At 24 he has seen more of this country than me but I guess that is the way it is with younger people today. No one stays in one spot. Haven't seen him in 7 months and that is another thing I have had to get use to.

One of my sons was going into speorts management, now he wants to go into law enforcement.

We are a BIG sports family. All 5 of my kids have played it all... football, basketball, baseball, and track but the biggest love is Baseball. My youngest son got a full ride for baseball. He even went to the little league world series the summer before his dad died. Big dream for all. My husband coached for 18 years...glad he got to realize the dream before he passed on.

Oh, it would kill me...I am soooo blessed. All 5 of my kids live within a few minutes of me. We get to spend lots of time together. I also have 10 grand-babies.

That is awesome. We are a football, basketball, baseball family. My older son got a scholarship for basketball and the younger one is concentrating on football. He will be a senior this year so we will see if he plays college next year. My boys still watch the little league world series

Congratulations! I'm sure your kids are very proud of their Mom. You are a great example that they can do anything they want with their lives
