I'm planning a trip to see someone special in North Carolina. I'm very excited, but I'm on a budget, so I'm taking a bus. It is a 22 hour trip down there and 29 hours back. Are there any road warriors here with any advice or precautions?

Hmmm, so your going to hit N Carolina so hard/fast...that it is going to move back by 7hrs(equates to about 350 miles back from where it is now)?

Want they have to re-map the state then? Going to take 7 more hrs to get home! WOW! Must be a tough bus!

There are a few layovers on the trip back that there will not be on the trip down.

watch out for lice

bring snacks. wipies. plenty of change for the machines...a great book or three. logic/word puzzles.

don't be surprised if things don't go the way they are supposed to. i once came from south carolina to arkansas...and my first bus broke down on the side of the road, making me miss each and every successive connection.

my trip ended up taking days longer than it should have, and i ran out of trip-money before too long. it was a sucky trip, heh.

i went to galveston from arkansas...and that one was a much better trip.

GOOD LUCK!! I remember when I first taken a bus ride cross-country. From San Diego, CA to Norfolk, VA. Boy! What a ride!
Here's an advice, don't carry too much luggages with you. At least, don't have more then 2 suitcases. 95% of the time, if you put your stuff in the luggage compartment of the BUS, it will not arrived at your destination at all. Grayhound Bus is notorious to lose your luggage in transit! It happen to me on my trip out, but I'm one of the few actually got their luggages back, after the fuss I made at the counter! ha ha. But then again that time when I went traveling there were 3 hurricane that swing by that area. The places were near flooded. Anyways.
