Ok, so I was on this site almost 24/7....even met up with a few people. But everyone just wanted to play games. Seriously, at this point I just want to get out of the house and meet people. It doesn't have to be love, or hell even a date. But a conversation with something other than my cat would be WONDERFUL!!!

Don't know what to tell ya, but posting in the forums is a good way to get to know people and might give you another way to meet people in your area.

does your area have a community center? you might want to try that. dating sites don't work for everyone, they've never worked for me.

free dating sites have never worked for me,pay sites have. if you want something really bad,you have to pay for it. it's the american way. be seeing you

I don't even bother to meet local dating site guys anymore. I figure the reason they contact me is cuz I'm next on the list. Yuck!

Hey Kentucky, Im too far away to kick it. I love talking to my ferret though. But I can relate. Develope an extreamly dorkey hobby. The people you find there are usually the best and they are mostly genuine. For example the SCA, lots and lots of fun, thats what i did.

Get off line, turn off the computer, leave the house

i was like that before.. met a few people and was nothing but games so i started going to the gym and going to the clubs every now and then.. and it really helps the social life.. ive met quite a few new friends that i really enjoy spending time with now.. hopefully you can do the same.. take care

While this is a bit harsh I have to say it is correct. I know it can be frustating to come on a site and think that you will find your true love. In reality, no one should depend on a site to give you that whether it is a paid site or a free one.

I have been on the interent off and on for about 2 years now I have met people from all over. Most of the awesome dates I have had has been from right here not looking.

I also don't believe sitting behind a computer screen24/7 is the way to go either. I also agree with somes advice about posting in forums etc. I know that is has been where I have met some wonderful friends that we all get together.

Also in closing how many have you contacted or are you waiting for them to contact them.

Try not to rely on the internet for social / dating.
