I think it has to do with the theory of how men/women think of them selves. For example:
Say your in a bar, And your just people watching.
(Minus the liquid courage, of course.)
There is a average girl at the bar.....and an average guy.


Now the girl knows her boundaries...she won't go and pick up on the hottest guy in the bar that has 20 sexy, hot girls hanging on him.....she will look for the more average guy to talk to.


But the average guy will walk right through the crowd of drooling hot guys to the sexiest girl in the bar and be turned down.

I've asked my guy friends if I have "geeks and freaks" tattooed on my forehead b/c that's mostly what approaches me for some reason... My friends have told me that as well.. They figure they have nothing to loose, get turned down 99 times and the 100th can come through for them...

Laws of average = I go into a pub and usually find a table in the back by meself and never hit on anybody. I never get bothered.
