You want a real bike and save some cash doing it?

If you want totally custom but would rather ride than wrench, have a look at the 2009 Yamaha Star Riader S. The 113-cubic-inch fuel-injected V-twin engine that powers it takes a back seat to no V-twin when it comes to power and reliablility. And the rest of the chopper-inspired Raider S is pure Star, designed and engineered by the world's best bike builders.

1854cc and starts out 2,000 less than that Road "King" you're looking at. My dad rides one, it's more than badass... it owns the road.

Yea, your looking at one right now, thats what Im riding in my pic..
AWESOME BIKE....

Paid $11,500 cash, no other cruiser beats the torque, of course if your into the loud Bikes or the Harley sound, your not gonna get it from this bike unless you take out the baffles or buy some cobra pipes..

Yup! My dad has the 2009 Raider S in red. It's freakin' incredible! Now you can't find one in that color. My whole family rides Yamaha. My mom has a Road Star 1700 and I have a VStar 1100 Midnight Custom(it's my frist bike). I wouldn't ride a Harley unless I got one hell of deal on one. They're overpriced and underpowered. You can't find a better example of "paying for a name".

Absolutley, my brother bought a limited edition softail, it burned up in his house fire 2 weeks later, now he too has a Raider.
I have seen one red one, they are cool, thats what I wanted but all they had was the silver and I didnt want to wait, so i got it.

yeah the cracker jack car's are finally putting out some power. but its still a ricer, and when they put out the 400 hp, thats fine but they never have the torque to keep up enough. i mean i love some, just not over american muscle, which sure there are still some now, but you gotta go back to the mid to late 60's and early 70's. i mean there were the camaro's and all later but they lost the true balls out touch, those cars stock back then were the meaning of balls out, and thats why they still do so well and take out damn near everything else.

like i said i love some. the new gen. from hundai very nice, either be pretty beast v6 or the 2.1 turbo 4 banger, either way they look hot, and can perform as well. i have always loved the 350z. but they just dont have that straight up WOW factor.

no new car that has alot of power is going to be a p.o.s. well i mean there is ford, but even they dont have the issues that used to plague them anymore. science and everything has gotten to far.

and out of the new ones that i think the looks and all are just amazing, the new camaro, or the challenger, if you have seen a full optioned challenger in person, im not sure theres much else like it. those gto's dont look half bad but kinda compared to them or the gt500 they dont have that, DAMN, factor to them.

Compared to what? Your 1984 Buick Century? Way to add to the topic.

I'd take one of the new Ford GT40's over a GT500... They're just too dang heavy for all the power they have. If they could cut some weight and make it more track inspired I'd go for one. Personally I'd like to get my hands on the Audi R8... that car is sex on wheels.

lol no sex on wheels fancy grocery getting I dont know if I was raised around American Muscle but I love me the sound of a deep throaty exhaust

I can get a deep throaty exhaust outta a 78 Monte Carlo... but that don't mean it's powerful or sexy. You gotta have the whole package. The only American cars that I can think of that really turn my head are the new Challenger and the Viper. Corvettes are on every dang corner, the new Camero looks like it was designed by Tonka, and there are getting to be waaaayyy to many of the new Mustangs out there. The Pontiac Solstice is nice too, for a little turbo 4 banger it's pretty nice. But if you want style, handling, power, and quality... it's getting hard to find in the good ol' US of A.

Nissan GT-R dyno run from Car and Driver. This is CRANK horsepower based on a 15% hp loss through the drivetrain. This dyno test was ran and coordinated by the folks at K&N.

507 hp at 6800 rpm and 500 pound-feet at 3200 rpm

If that's not enough torque... I don't know what is. This car is easily keeping up with it's competitors the Vette and the Porsche when it comes to torque and 1/4 mi speeds. Not only that but this thing handles amazingly. It's got all the goodies to peel your face off and make the guy having a mid-life crisis in his Vette pee his pants.

I have an old shovelhead harley. I've had it for almost 30 years now. It's a chopper. But, I don't ride it much these days. I don't want to be another middle aged guy on a harley. It's just not cool any more. But, I was the **** in the 80s!

Do you mean me?

I'm not old. I'm middle aged.

I just see those fat guys out riding their harleys pretending to be outlaws and I just want to laugh at them. They have no clue. Buying a bike doesn't make you cool. In fact, you can't buy cool at all.

HARLEY DAVIDSON OR MUSTANG?
Neither, I drive Jeeps and ride a Suzuki DRZ-400. Don't like Harleys even tho I make pipes for them and don't like FORDs.
