... would you consider going to prison for the sake of having somewhere warm to stay and guaranteed food to eat?

You cannot be serious. i did a field trip to a prison for one of my classes a couple semesters ago. the place actually looked quite comfy. i wasn't the only one who wondered at the time whether some people might not find it a favorable alternative to working. |

I wouldn't want "living in prison" to fall on my record if I wanted the outside life again. So, no. I don't think prison would be the ticket for me.

i cant believe you even asked taht question!!!! but i'm serious the prison personnel explained that conditions had to be good because if they weren't, criminals would fester in there and hold greater resentment toward society, when the idea is to rehabilitate them. geez.. i'm sorry i asked such a stupid question then . |

maybe i'm asking the wrong type of crowd...
i'm sure there would be a certain element of society who would grow so accustomed to prison life and it's "cushness" that they don't care about landing there, and perhaps, in the back of their mind, welcome it. i'm pondering how do u balance the two objectives of imprisonment: prison as punishment and prison as a rehabilitation facility. anyhoo, just randomness on my part. don't mind me, carry on smartly folks lol. |

... would you consider going to prison for the sake of having somewhere warm to stay and guaranteed food to eat? It happens, a lot of people either become so accustomed to prison they can't do anything when they get out...or they are homeless for so long eventually a bed is a bed...no matter where it is. I don't think I would, but I've been to jail...hardly the horror stories people like to think it is, but I'm guessing prison is a different ball game altogether. |

Anyone that down on thier luck should follow the Rainbow Family kids around from gathering to gatherings. Free food, free cigarettes if you smoke, and cuddle puddles all around. It's everything a bum could want.

Depends on the prison <,< :P in all honesty, I got enough family in one (that will go un-named) to know for certian that I will be treated like a king there. On the other hand, my pride is too high, I like knowing I worked and earned everything I have, even my bed and even the food I eat.
