Kitten I've been cut open 4x's and had the tubal during 1 of them. I was fine with the tubal... maybe you might have some discomfort as was mentioned from the gas/air which is also whenever they open you up in the abdomen area....

Thank you everyone. Like I said, my internet is being crappy right now, but I will bathe my kid and hopefully when I come back it will be better.
 I was just curious of other people having it done and how they felt and whatnot.

kitten, have you considered the new essure process? it's supposedly less painful with less recovery. Ditto I would go with that first have had the one your talking about doing and yeah the gas they use to blow up your stomach was not fun. Hard to say for me as far as the pain for had it done the day after my daughter was born just know I hurt more after that birth then I did the first one. But honestly I would do the other ways they have now instead they say your back and going within just a day or two. I would never opt to surgery if I could get away from it.

I haven't had one but all the people i know that have- really haven't had any problems- they say that the most painful thing is they expand your abdomen with air- and it is uncomfortable when your body gets rid of it. a great friend of mine was up and partying in about a week- you'll be fine- best wishes to you- I have some gas x here.  But that sounds very uncomfortable. I have never had any sort of surgery, so im nervous. Thank you very much. The worst pain you will probably experience is if the gas that they expand your abdomen with rises up to your shoulders.. the most uncomfortable I've ever been in my life after laprascopic surgery. I had mine the old fashioned way but my sister had it your way ..we were both up and around in no time....You'll be fine  "They did mine sideways"

Well, I am doing this because I do not want any more children at all. I can't take birth control because I have high blood pressure. I have done the IUD and depo, and it just wasnt something I could do. This is my last resort. Believe me when I say I have done everything else to NOT have the surgery.

Good luck on your surgery. They use nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to inflate the abdomen for the surgery. I have not had the surgery but have heard from people who have had it that they were sore for a few days while the puncture sites healed, and a few complained of some pain from the gas as some stated above.
I am sure you will be fine. When I had my surgery over a year ago, I told the anesthesiologists I was scared and they had me laughing on the way to the operating room, had quite a story going about "Sven" and the beach. I would tell them you are worried and they can make your trip a lot less stressful. Good luck.

Kitten u will b fine yer tough.it will b a lil painfull but mostly pressure,just do as they say and u will b up and going n a wk.my prayer's and thought's will b with u.i will b at sturgis then and will b thinking of u.i wish u the best u will b fine

i haven't had all that many surgeries but i choose local anesthetic (which should be an option for you) whenever possible for a few good reasons. first, i think it's pretty interesting to see what i look like on the inside. second, waking up from general anesthesia sucks, especially in the middle of the surgery. i did that once, couldn't tell them and really didn't enjoy it

Carbon Dioxide/CO2-same as what you exhale, and for carbonating drinks, is what is used. |
