Topic: Harry Potter Movie | |
---|---|
Just got home after the first showing of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
The best of the Harry Potter movies. Very funny. It's been a while since I read this book, but it all comes back to you. Funny to see how the have matured as actors and as the characters too. Special effect's are excellent. The movie ran just at 2 and 1/2 hours. |

Just got back myself. Took my daughter and my boys.
It was very good but, like the book, very dark. A bit long for a midnight show, lol. |

I wanted to go to the midnight show but have to wait until Sunday. My daughter is taking me for my birthday. I enjoy the Harry Potter movies a lot.

I'm glad you liked the movie.
My kids tended to be like the "book police" while these were being published over the years (and yes, they both have their own hard back sets!) In general, they wouldn't see the movies because they liked reading the books so well and didn't want their own mental images altered...since then they've seen a couple of the flicks but are really ho-hum about them. There are some expections, but by and large if they like a book, they avoid the movie - the Lord of the Rings Trilogy was the biggest exception. They liked those stories in both formats. |

Okay, did you and I see the same movie? I thought it blew!
I am a huge fan of the movies (and books), but I felt like this one REALLY left out way too much. Very choppy storyline and I was disappointed with the whole Harry/Ginny storyline (underdeveloped). And where the heck was the big fight sequence at the end? Now granted, it was the midnight showing and I was soooo tired...maybe I'll go back again this weekend and give it another whirl. ETA: Acting abilities of the core three, however, have really improved. They all did an outstanding job. Cinematography was phenomenal, as usual. |

I agree, the Lord of the Rings series was well worth the time and money!!!
Harry Potter - the books wayyyy outshine the movies so far. |

No arguement that the books outshine the movies. It has been so long since I read this book, I kinda forgot what the whole story was. So I enjoyed it.

Bottom line is that if you could go pay the admission and enjoy yourself for a couple of hours, you WIN!
