A Quote from Neil Peart about Buddy Rich:
"I can hardly do better than quote something Gene Krupa once said, that there are all these great drummers in the world -- and then there's Buddy Rich. During the making of our tribute record to his music, Burning For Buddy, I immersed myself pretty deeply in Buddy's life and work, and the more I learned, the more I came to admire the man and his music. Quite simply, Buddy Rich was a great man, who did great work." -- Neil Peart If anyone else is interested, I got this from the address below. http://www.buddyrich.com/community/tributes.html |

Keith Mooon - Duh
John Bonham - Double Duh Carl Palmer - How come no one mentioned this guy? He is right up there with Peart. Neal Peart - Even though Rush sucks donkey ballz, I do have to admit he is a percussionist extraordinaire Billy Cobham - Combines the best of both worlds, explosive power and precision! |

This guy aint famous particularly, as far as i know, but this is the best drum solo i have seen ever.
His name is Dylan Elise, he was just 16 years old when this was recorded. Its ten minutes long. Its worth sticking with it, because it just keeps getting better. It gets to a point where you think, how could this GET any better. And then it does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHDjGtj18X0 |
