Topic: What is in a color?

By the way, what ever happened to just being an American irregardless of color?

Irregardless isn't a word! Sorry, that bugs me.

On topic, there's never been "just American". It's always been about what color. It's to make sure they hire enough minorities. A place with all white people can get in trouble.

offtopic Irregardless is considered nonstandard because of the two negative elements ir- and -less. It was probably formed on the analogy of such words as irrespective, irrelevant, and irreparable. Those who use it, including on occasion educated speakers, may do so from a desire to add emphasis. Irregardless first appeared in the early 20th century and was perhaps popularized by its use in a comic radio program of the 1930s.

So it is a word-- just not a standard wordrofl

I was just typing that, well some of it ,not all of it... laugh laugh laugh
Careful hun... first it is the color police.. you are going to end up with the punctuation Police after you totongue2

I agree ... and it doesn't matter to me one bit how people attempt to defend the usage of that utterance ... it's still improper! rant

I also really don't give a rip if this is "off-topic", either. smokin

my ex's gpop was from northern italy and always told me sicily was the **** that italy kicked off its boot.. lmao

ha ha, I know I get that stuff, my grandmother is northern italian.

My dads all mixed up.

He also adds letters to words that dont belong there.

Like once he said on the phone to a tech. "now im not experp". laugh

I sometimes still say dad, dont be a perp! laugh

My sons granmother is italian, she thinks shes superior too. lol

She says Sicilians are "treacherous" people

TBH i think all the northern men are just jealous that the sigis are known to be well endowed. some good at least came out of the moors conquering the area and raping all the women

I agree 100% O the women are mad too cos they dont have the flavor.

More booty, bigger poutier lips, sensual, very sexual.

Thank you moors.. thank you, thank you, thank you!, and THANK YOU.

Im all about the well endowed.

lol your ancestors probably just rolled over in their graves after that one

(but yes, pouty lips and a nice booty are def in those genetics, lol)

ah their only wishing they were rolling over onto one of those hot um, tools. ha ha

It is Illegal to ask if someone is gay or straight or their religion when applying for a job, So... shouldn't it be Illegal to ask their race??

I would be a Germerican.

I'm pretty sure disclosing your race is optional; it has been on every document I've seen like that. Just tell them you don't wish to answer that question. Problem solved.

I've mentioned this many, many times before. It's a very simple concept, yet apparently too difficult for most people to wrap their little pea-brains around.

There are very few TRUE African Americans. If you live in the United States, were not born in Africa, have never been to Africa, do not speak any African language, etc., then you are simply an American who happens to be of African descent. Other than that, ain't no "African" involved!

In other words, if Nelson Mandela moved to the United States, became a citizen and adhered to our laws and government, he would be considered a TRUE African American.

Just because a person is black does NOT automatically make them an African American any more than a white person who lives in Africa makes them an American African. That would be as ridiculous as calling myself a German Polish French Canadian American American.

Does a black person who lives in Canada call themselves an African Canadian? No. How about Germany? Do they call themselves African Germans? No. It's ridiculous, it's a misnomer, and it's just another way for people to jump on the bandwagon of the lie of "political correctness".
