On this day in 1910, Mother Teresa was born in Skopje, Macedonia. At the age of eighteen, she left home to join the Sisters of Loreto and was sent to Calcutta, India. In 1950, Mother Teresa received permission to start her own order, the Missionaries of Charity. The missionaries primary task was to care for people nobody else was willing to look after.
