yes, a sleeker, more shadowed out version of the new camaro would be a welcome sight. that's what the trans-am usually represents to me

Depends on how they made it look. Gotta agree with Vincent that a muscle car version would be nice. I wasn't a big fan of the last body style before they quit making it.

only if it gets the V-8 cuz having a muscle car with a V-6 is horrible...its like putting a V-6 in a corvette

Well we should all send GM a letter. I am sure the 4 of us together could make a difference haha! While we are at it, we should request a hot pink version of the new trans am as well

Well... they DID have a new Firebird/Trans AM in the works up until Government Motors decided to drop the nameplate like the girlfriend who just disclosed that she's got herpes. You can find pics of the new Firebird/Trans AM online.

But yeah- you CAN'T have a new Camaro, Challenger, and Mustang WITHOUT a new Firebird/Trans AM. It's just as important to the musclecar scene as any of the others out there, and deserves a spot in the whole "classic cars re-made" scene.

That was a Corvette. And it was nothing shy of f*ing bad-a$$. love

But the Trans-Am I think would look better as a retro muscle car like the new Camaro. They should make a retro version of something around the '76 model.

I don't blame ya. I'm pretty fond of the '76 body style of Trans Am as well.

The Vette is still just in the stages of a concept car, but hopefully will be released on the streets one day. It's supposed to be the new/retro version of the Stingray. Here's a closer look:

while it's true the corvette never had a v6 the original engine was the "blue flame" i6. and f-bodies have included a 4-banger or v8 as a base engine for much of their run. they sell well to people who want the style but don't care about performance....yeah, i find that disturbing too.

the camaro ss models have the LS2 (yeah, that's a 6.2L V8).

the v6 has hp about the same as the basic LS1 did in the 4th gen trans am, formula firebird and z28. the ws-6, firehawk, camaro ss, and other highend or specialty models had a bit more of course. what the new v6 lacks is torque....the most important thing for a muscle car.grumble

and btw, the new vette concept is an abomination. ok, we already had to deal with the flip-up headlights being cancelled on the c6. i got used to it. but now they think they can just delete the signature 4-tail lights that have been there for most of the run...come on!mad and trying to combine c3-style huge fenders with a c5/c6 huge butt just doesn't work imo. idk what i think about the possibility of it being mid-engine. seems like blasphemy in the church of corvette, but there are purists who say the corvette died once they swapped the solid axle for independent rear. i say the handling benefits are worth it, particularly in the 84.
