PONTIAC CUSTOMER STATEMENT

April 27, 2009

Pontiac brand to be phased out as part of GM’s more aggressive restructuring efforts

BACKGROUND

Since its inception in 1926, Pontiac has been known for delivering vehicles with both performance and value. Over the past several years, the brand has been closely associated first with GMC and then with Buick.

I am really let down with GM. I grew up driving GM vehicles.

My first car..

1970 Chevelle

the rest are listed in succession...

1978 Rally Sport Camaro

1979 Z28 Camaro

1980 Pontiac firebird

1981 Pontiac formula firebird

1981 Corvette

1992 Pontiac firebird

Not to mention all the GM trucks in between..I'm really pissed at General Motors..they ripped us off for years..and now...not only do they discontinue the Pontiac line, but after receiving a government bail out..(government? you mean the people who supported you right?) but after you bail out...you took away jobs from the American people..and not only that, you screwed us for years...Gee thanks, General Motors..no wonder your stuff is in the can. Thank you so much, for destroying an American Icon.

When I was younger I had a Chevy Malibu, and then a Camaro, and then a Pontiac Grand Prix.

No, that's Camaro....instead of copycat all the time, how about some uniqueness? Make it modern and yet retro, but stop copying or make it look like being put together from spare parts. I also don't like the bulkyness, fat looking thing...it should be sleek, thinner and pretty, it's supposed to be a "step sister" of the Camaro.

start from this:

make it look a bit modern and yet keep retro

and go from there..

After getting screwed on GM stock, seeing the declineing quality of GM vehicals buying them over the years, and tThen the bailout that clearly did NOT keep anything than over paid fat cats in their job GM won't get another penny of my money!

Not only that, but GM's wanting MORE TARP funding AFTER they just came out of bankruptcy is highly suspect to my eyes. If I didn't know better, I'd say there was some shenanigans at work, and not just at the corporate automaker level, either.

i have said since 95 i will never buy a new gm car

went to buy a new impala ss

wanted dark adriatic blue (standard color offered)

with black cherry leather interior (standard interior offered)

i told them i don't care if it takes a year to get it that is what i want and i am not spending that kind of money for something i do not want

went to six dealers at least they all said the same thing gm will not do it (no wonder they went broke)

they want you to buy their spec cars well heck w/that that grey interior (in most of them sucks)

and why should i have to buy a vehicle and change it when what i want are standard choices

gm can go the way of studebaker for all i care (or pontiac  )

i'll never buy any car that's model year '96 or later...i can't stand OBD2. i'm not saying it has no advantages at all but imo the drawbacks are too numerous and too significant.

try getting them to build a rcsb (regular cab, short bed) silverado with a 5.3L. first they'll say you can get an extended cab witha 4.8 for the same price. true, but when speed is the goal, that's not a better deal. then, when you actually order one with the 5.3L rpo, they whine and jerk you around. that's why my friend walked out of the dealership pissed off a few years ago.

The only way I would be interested is if they changed the power plant.

Like to use hydrogen, cold fusion or some such efficient fuel.

What they should be doing at the car companies is retooling to make real (new technology) power plants for the vehicles that are on the road now...

I would buy that.
