I am turning 56 and have a very physical job. I try to stay in shape with walking and eating healthy, mostly salads and not much meat, some chicken. But I find myself getting tired at the end of the work day and then when I get home I just wanna sit, although I always take a walk. Can anyone recommend a good routine or some vitamins or something I am missing to keep me going. or is this just something I should accept because I am getting older. Any advice?

find GOOD 'whole food vitamins. Synthetic ones are no good. I take (literally the title "the greatest vitamin in the world". That plus an energy pill, a metabolizer. But don't overdo the energy pills. If you start to crash, lay off a few days. But ALWAYS take your vitamins w/ the enzymes and such. Go to the site and read what all it has, you need it all and it's all in one vitamin. It's the simplest one I found that works and actually helps you FEEL better and more motivated without any spazzy side effects.

Sounds like part of the problem is lack of protein...that is what muscle is built from. Don't be afraid of meat...it is your friend. Dietary supplements are good but, without basic protein and iron you are gonna feel a bit run down. Just avoid fattier cuts of meat. Pork has little fat relatively speaking. The diet you are describing sounds great if you are trying to shed weight...but, muscles need to be fed in order to do thier job.

Try "Resveratrol". Google it! Good for raising HDL and giving one the energy of a younger person.

go to a acupuncture or a reiki specialist...make sure they are certified.

and the post above about the whole food vitamins...great!! also try to cut out the refined sugars...and some of the gluten out of your diet...

also, have your blood checked out too...you could be low in iron..which helps carry oxygen around your body...which is a good thing when it comes to energy!!

a good acupuncture or reiki specialists will also be able to help with whole herbs and vitamins!!

Agree w/ the acupuncture. Vitamin B is supposed to be really good for energy. Make sure you have some good protein in those salads. Chicken, Turkey, hard boiled eggs, you need to get some protein, but avoid the red meat. Sorry guys :-)
