One of the tricks for a strack soldier. (back when shiny footware was required).

Old panty hose can give a pair of boots the appearance of a spit-shine in a few seconds.

Well, I can make a little craft basket of potatoes, or a sack of potatoes.

Its really easy.

You take the nude hose, and you cut into small pieces, and then u stuff them with batting (cotton) and then you close em up, (make the size of a potato) and the you add dimples in the potatoes to make them look more real by simply taking the thread through a little hose, and batting in one place and make a knot a few times.

Sew your potatoes in a fashion where they are together, but not uniform to make a more stacked looking affect.

You can get fitting, cute, country basket from your local craft store,

Buy a little piece of styrofoam to fit inside the basket to put the potatoes on in the basket big enough to fill basket, but not all the way to the top to leave room for your little potatoes you made.

Then you superglue the little potatoes you made to the top of the styrofoam, then you sew the sides of your potatoes to the sides of the basket.

Orrr. for a sack of potatoes, you can get some berlap, and sew it into a little bag..

Mark a cute statement on the sack, like "potatoes 5 cents" in a silly handwritten fashion.

fit in old newspaper into the sack.

Sew your potatoes you made onto top of the sack you made.

Make a hanger out of cloth for the back, or with twine for a country effect on back.

Voila! A cute country look for your kitchen, or whereever.

I made these with my Mom as a kid for our kitchen, and my moms friends, and eventually we sold them at craft shows.

Was fun! Enjoy!

Yeah, Im friggin Martha Stewart, I know.

I love making those things...I also sometimes glue google eyes & crazy hair on 'em...pin a "diaper" on...add a magnet to the back... Instant Tater Tots! bigsmile

ah ha ha CUTE!

...old pantyhose?

This thread is dedicated to TxsSun...bigsmile Feel free to post any of your unusual creations or inventions...

You can make a pretty handy-dandy pool filter, provided the nylons don't rip or anything.

You can also kinda use panty hose as makeshift fiberglass if you slather enough two-part epoxy resin on it.
