I'm with the OP. I am not impressed by friend collectors. I have deleted my name from people's friend lists who had hundreds of friends. I want my friendship to mean something to someone! I don't want to just be one of the many. I am selective about who I add to my list also. I don't accept every friend request that comes my way. My friends are people I talk to regularly. Well, those who I chat with, email with know that I'm friend with them, I rather think of the friends' list as a nice gesture, perhaps interested or like me somewhat, kinda like a first stepping stone. Works better than the "match with this person". |

I also like having an equal amount of girlie friends to guy friends.
I like the women I have met on Mingle, and I don't necessarily want a big 'ol sausage-fest on my profile! 
I only add those that chat with me on the forums or that give a rat's azzzzz about how I am -- and that I care about their welfare as well. Willy-nilly friend adding is like drunk typing! Just say no!

most of my friends on here, i either talk to or have in the past , and if it was often in the past, but not lately i leave them on because ive had meaningful words with them and would like to in the future...other ones i weed through like every 6 months... humm reminds me its about due.. you know the ones that emailed 2 short emails and you never got to know them? those i take off...
thats just my reasonings, everyone has different reasons so honestly its none of no ones business how many friends you have or dont have... its your choice... |

I have to admit..I don't have a sausage fest on my profile..it's a different kind of a "fest"...although I do talk to guys here in emails about guns, politics and girls. |

Ok, how about "you've been here too long". Does that make me suspicious ? Mingle2 is unlike myspace or facebook, those aren't like having a discussion forum. Many people treat mingle2 like 'yahoo personals' or 'match.com'. Basically, some might think, hanging around too long on a dating site makes some think that I might be something like a 'social reject" ? Why worry so much about what others think? If you enjoy the site and the forums, stay. Don't worry about what someone says. |
