i've basically given up food so i can be skinny. just cut it off, my relationship with food. and i've reached my goal and it's not enough so i keep going. but all in all i was HAPPIER and more energetic when i was 30 lbs heavier and honestly i had more boyfriends even then. perhaps it was because i didn't have to OBSESS about what i consumed. my identity came from somewhere other than how thin i was. i think that's an enviable position for any girl to be in.. to actually believe it to be true.

so life has taken me here and there, good and not so good, cause basically life is larger than anyone or anything can ever be.

internally, this is what i have left.

externally, it's all appearances and presumptions. the value is there apparently.

I'd go with whatever makes you happy, well, within reason. I lost 90 pounds 2 years ago, in about 11 months, due to a job change. And I don't eat as much and feel a bit better. But I'm one of those idiots that could careless what I look like, because I am who I am, no matter what I look like.

Depends on what we all want...!

Beauty is skin deep, and you gotta be proud of yourself.

If I were you, I would be proud of myself, and then maintain it, healthily; not by not eating, but by exercising and eating healthy!

We have one life, and it ain't fun if you are anorexic and unhappy. Be healthy, eat healthy, and as the saying goes - a healthy body is a healthy mind.

For all that the body does 24 x 7, exercise 45 minutes to an hour everyday. And eat what you like, in limited quantities.

It is all about exercise, food and control!

Cheers! :)

And life is so much easier when someone accepts you for who you are and not what they want you to be.

Making the decision to lose weight isn't about dieting...its about changing your bad habits into good ones.

Healthy weight loss doesn't happen over night especially if you want to keep it off.

I lost 120 pounds over the past 18 months, I cut salt out of my diet completely, started walking, drinking lots more water and only eat sugar free snacks. I watch the sodium intake and limit it to as little as possible.

Have a read of burn the fat, feed the muscle. It's a fantastic book. Only other thing I will say that if you want to get rid of excess body fat then do it for yourself and do it safely.

I am a fan of Cover Bailey and his book
"Fit or Fat"
He has a Masters degree in Biochemistry from MIT.
He describes the how and why of metabolism and why weight loss diets fail.
The secret to consistent weight management and good health is aerobic exercise. Weight training (lifting wgts) is also a small part of it, but emphasis is on aerobics.

He sells no equipment (endorsed only one product)or diet schemes, (having taken nutrition classes as an RN his recommendations are sound) His books are very funny, and helpful. You can find them for about a dollar in any thrift store.

There have been a lot of studies done in the past few years about what is healthy and what is not. The trick is finding balance in your food intake, the quality of the food you eat, and the right amount of exercise. The balance is a little different for everyone. Pericone wrote a couple of books which are cutting edge. He believes in lots of anti oxidants, vegetables, fruits, protein, and vitamins. He thinks carbs in moderation and ditch the sugar are the ways to go.

This sounds about right but also a key factor is to not eat PROCESSED foods as much as possible. Low fat or low carbs doesn't mean much if what you're eating has no nutritional value what so ever. I have dropped 2 sizes in about 10 weeks with eating properly and an hour of intense exercise 4-5 days a week. You can not give up on food, your body needs nourishment to be healthy. The key to keeping your metabolism up is eating small portions more often. Good luck!

I haven't seen him.

Most of the doctors now are recommending the South Beach diet, higher protein, lower carbs and exercise. They say it is easier to stick to than the Atkins diet, it was too strict. Lots of people have luck with Weight Watchers too if they want group support.

I have to stay away from carbs, my body doesn't handle them and they start me craving, so I do much better with high protein, low carb. I am down about 6 sizes now.

Don't forget to take vitamins if you are not eating properly, you need to get the supplements you are missing in your food, could be another reason you don't feel as well.

it's one less thing to worry about which may or may not be good depending on how much you like on your plate
