I've got a bunch of idiots for nieghbors, barking dogs, screaming kids, screaming parents, loud cars, loud music, running their dam weed wackers at 7am, if there is noise to be made they make it, and make it often. I find that copious amounts of Old Grand Dad and LaBatts blue help muffle all of it.

Heheheheh... We live in a nice suburban neighborhood...you know, the 2.5 kids, swingsets in the yards...the occasional barking dog...

I just stepped outside for a smoke & could hear a lil schnauzer-thing barking, barking, barking. Obviously, Mommy & Daddy went to work & the lil guy was left out in the back yard... All of a sudden, the next door neighbor comes out & pleads "Stop it! Please shut your dog up!" Then her husband come barreling out & screams at the top of his lungs "Will you shut that fokking dog up! Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!"

Of course, all the other dogs in the neighborhood start barking...my lil 10lb Terrier gets all butch...doing the moon walk, kicking back dirt with his hackles all raised... I quietly said "Don't you dare make a sound, Jack!"

So, I just gotta ask...How do you handle life's lil annoyances? Do you freak out like the neighbors...would you buy ear plugs...what?

I certainly wouldn't yell at a DOG for barking. noway If he was left outside, he's likely hot. They bark for a reason not just to hear themselves. People are so stupid.

Most people don't know that a dog barking requires no more effort for them than a human does to talk. That's why they never get "tired out" from barking.

My dogs yip and yowl at the coyotes all the friggen time...

what is really wierd...they speak "coy" to the coyotes...but just plain bark at the random dog/skunk/snake

It is seriously like they are bi-lingual.

my neighbors had a stupid dog that barked constantly night and day. i really don't understand the point of having a dog in the city or suburbs if you aren't going to train it to hunt or aid the handicapped or something. i'm just not an animal person so i'll never understand.

i try to be a good neighbor. i don't use power tools or bang on things in the garage late at night and i don't rev my trucks when i leave like some people. do they think that's cool? idiots.

about 5 houses down there's a mexican family that likes to play tejano music pretty loudly on sunday afternoon. i can hear it but it's not that annoying. i'll be under a truck changing my oil and just start laughing if there's a really "awesome" accordian or tuba solo. last sunday was different. when i woke up they were blaring "don't stop 'til you get enough".

Dogs barking and kids playing outside never bothered me until I started working 2nd shift. My apartment faces the playground. I'm looking into finding some ear plugs - the whole pillow over my head is not working and I am afraid I might suffocate myself.

there are some very polite kids in my neighborhood. on more than one occasion kids ride their bikes by my house while changing my oil or doing something else in the garage and they stop and say, "sir, may i please ride my bike in your driveway?" i say ok and they'll do a circle or two, say thanks and ride off. it's pretty nice. i see so many bratty kids these days i'd expect them to ride through the yard, drop a steamer on the porch and ride off laughing.
