Blender described Jackson as the "late twentieth century pre-eminent pop icon", while The New York Times gave the opinion that he was a "musical phenomenon", and that "in the world of pop music, there is Michael Jackson and there is everybody else".[26][46] Jackson changed the way the industry functioned: both as an artistic persona, and as a financial, profitable entity.Thriller cemented Jackson's status as one of the predominant pop stars of the late 20th century, and enabled him to break down racial barriers via his appearances on MTV.

hey the numbers tell the story sales have nothing to do with talent. i could list tons of artists who have sold less recors than Wacko Jacko but have much more talent. Warren Zevon would be a perfect example. Just because people buy into the hype of a product does not mean that it's good. There is a lot more McDonalds eaten than Prime Rib,doesn't mean it's good for you. be seeing you
sales have nothing to do with talent best one I've heard today
Popular has nothing to do with "good". The pet rock was popular. |

Sold a lot of records blah blah blah. Good dancer blah blah blah. Broke barriers blah blah blah. Great entertainer blah blah blah.
His music was OKAY. To me, he was more hype than actual brilliance. He certainly was no musical genius. End of story. |
