i'd much rather THAT than 'anything you wanna know, ask' - and not one word more.

i had one guy write to me irate cause it was in the last paragraph about my being involved with someone. he hadn't bothered to 'read that boring stuff' and 'why didn't i highlight that at the beginning'

I'd rather have alot to read over nothing to read. To me someone that can't write more than a few words either has something to hide or is just so boring that even he doesn't know anything about himself. If I have something to read that he has taken the time to write then that gives me a little insight to what kind of person he is. What makes me mad is guys who don't read my profile then start talking to me only to find out I don't like guys that smoke or are covered in tattoos.. and this is AFTER I've asked them did they read my whole profile and they lie by saying yes... SHEESH!!

well, do you want quality? or those two line profiles that say next to nothing? a well rounded profile speaks volumes about a person, and that they really care about what they're doing here, and maybe what they want.

the others with two lines are tied up with other things and can't give forth the effort at the time because they are busy with life, or they are lazy and not worth the effort themselves.

People with long profiles arent afraid to lay things out for people to know. These personalities usually are confident, open, and sharing (just my opinion). One liners usually are shy, reserved, and cautious. You can read a lot about a person from what they write in a profile.

Long profiles are ok for me, more for me to know about a person before I message them is great.

or really don't want anyone to contact them and are here just to converse in the forums.

i think the guys (and the gals) who aren't interested in reading a profile are mostly just writing cause they like the photos and a guy like that, to me, lacks substance and wouldn't likely get any response out of me.

What is too long? Too short? I consider mine on the short side, yet over half of the folks that write -I like your profile- later when talking to them show that they never even read the words. So, again I ask what is too long or too short. To me its all subjective to the lazyness of the reader. JMO

Well I took the 15 hours it took to read Lex's profile, and found out a lot. But I prefer to not say much in mine, because I'd rather have someone get to know me, not know everything about me.

maybe that is their intention?

You sound like the type that they are NOT looking for

I had a pretty decent profile that had a bit of length, I recently stripped it down to be less encouraging to those that view it.(I was getting lots of email just complementing me on it)

I felt that having a good profile with information about your likes, dislikes and what you are looking for was better than a two sentence blerb asking to be asked questions. If a profile is well worded you can have a good conversation with pretty much anyone with like minded interests.

Now I am down to just a couple lists of things, I still think I might strip that off and leave the whole thing blank.

In my opinion if someone truely takes the time to read,
then that shows a true interest in looking for someone.

If they take the time to put some effort in their profile,
it shows me that they are genuine (most of the time). shades

I have had many that contact me, never bothering to
read my profile- then RUN when they realize certain things
about me. whoa

My favorites are the ones who read your profile, then put
word for word in theirs before contacting you. whoa
(This sentance was sarcasm).
