The best way to study 'subjects' is by observation, any anthropologist knows that! So there's a good start, study anthropology, they've already studied the most interesting 'subjects'.

The best way to study is to find interest in a subject and simply fascinate yourself with it. You will retain more information as a whole.

If that doesn't work then use flash cards. I like to use themdrinker
