yeah, and i hated it. but right now if they opened up some welding jobs at my company i'd go back to it. it's a $4/hr raise from where i'm currently at.

I finished a welding course in the winter. It was pretty cool, best thing I've ever done as far as education is concerned, and that's over university and college!

I have always been fascinated by two or more metals being fused by high heat. There is also explosive welding which is cool as well.

Underwater is the way to go. It is very hard work. Much of the training is done here in Houston.

If you just want to learn for fun learn mig and stick. If you want to get fancy, learn TIG and gas. Gas is not used much anymore but is classy. I took a class some years ago on gas welding of aluminum. Tough stuff.

Learning how to weld is fairly easy. Learning to do it well is difficult.

My pops taught me how to weld when I was a kid. I Tig whenever I get the chance. I don't do it often enough to get good. Some of my work isn't pretty. lol
