Welder by profession here, can weld anything under the sun, just cant seem to weld a woman by my side as of yet!
Have worked as a welder for the last 15 years, everything from adapting corvette intake manifolds, to making a refinery from scratch for a private mine owner in idaho, to making floating dock canopies for restaurants. Have always been able to find a job in this day and age, |

I recently read about welding and fabricating titanium....pretty incredible what it entails. In order for the metal to reach weldable temps it literally catches fire which is why it must be cast or welded in a vacuum or in a sealed chamber filled with inert gases (no oxygen)...oddly enough, titanium is far from rare...all white paint is pigmented with titanium.

A lot of sand has Titanium in it. |

I am going to attend a local tech school in the fall for welding, and I was wondering if there are any welders in here. I've done a little bit of MiG (metal-inert gas) and TiG (tungsten-inert gas) welding, but I'm not an expert on that crap. And I have absolutely NO experience in Heli-Arc welding, though I've seen it done a number of times. |
