No, they have to have something of interest, like loves to bake, I got a whole bin of pecan sandies this weekend. When I make first contact I ask what they know how to bake, cuz I ain't traveling to meet some goof for nothing.

Instead of writing nothing at all they can say, "I've got cookies. Want some?" |

Think about it this way. When you meet someone in your everyday life do they have an essay following them around for you to read before you decide to say hello?

About as likely as I am to contact the guy that sent this initial contact:
"i love sweaty hot love on the hill under the stars upon us" |

Think about it this way. When you meet someone in your everyday life do they have an essay following them around for you to read before you decide to say hello? Apples and oranges. When I see someone in everyday life they are in front of me not an anonymous blank on a computer screen. |

No, but at least you know what they look like! That is true, I do think they should at least have a photo. A recent one at that, not some 10 year old photo from when they were in high school. |

Think about it this way. When you meet someone in your everyday life do they have an essay following them around for you to read before you decide to say hello? Not really the same thing. In person, you can ask questions and discuss things in real time. This is a written medium; people who don't take the time and effort to write something in their profiles about themselves that is at least marginally interesting and informative are just wasting everyone's time. The other 2.3% actually try to say something about themselves. |
