When I first saw you, looked into your eyes,

The first time we loved, under bright shinning skies

Marriage came to us, happiness untold.
Days and nights of splendor,

Months turned into Years and

In everyday matters, I needed you

I never loved you less
Than the first time . I was blessed.

One morning you kissed me bye
And told me you loved me
As you headed for your work.
I smiled and said I love you so.
You are my life, I need you
For every breath I take.

That night you came to me.
Divorce was what you asked.
You took my breath away., as you said
I won’t be coming back.

Days and nights had no meaning
I needed you so.
You weren’t here with me
Where did you go?

God took my grandson.
His father, my son took sick
Cancer, they said. Here is the risk.
I reached out for you, but you weren’t there
once again , when I needed you .

The world turned into madness.
The tears would not stop., Afraid to lift the phone, of what I might have to hear. Twelve days it took my Mom to die ..Please don’t take my son too, I cried.
And every night into my pillow I whispered
I need you.

A year went by then it was my Dad. And still
I needed you .

In dreams you taunted, loving and mean
You’d come to me laughing,
And then disappear again.

Last night you came once more.
Please God, no!
But you took me into your arms and held me .
I could feel your warmth , the texture of you hair. Your smell , I missed so much.. It was all there.

I put my arms around you drawing you near.
I cried tears of joy, You were finally here.
I needed you so.

You let me cry,
Held me tight to you.
Then you kissed me
And said “I’m sorry”
And then you faded away.

I woke with tears streaming down my face
Cursing and wiping at my eyes..

I went outside as the sun was breaking thru
the clouds. The morning fragrant
with dew.

I took a deep breath, and realized
You had brought back what you’d taken.
Returned my breath to me. And as the sun
Broke thru….I no longer….
Needed you.

Is it just me, or is love always more romanticized when you look back on it than when you're actually there?

Maybe for some people....depends I think on the person...to me...to love someone, really love them...there is nothing romantic about the hurt or pain you have when they leave, be it death or divorce...It's like walking thru hades, without a map.

A prime example of why I don't read these things....makes me cry
