$645 rents me a 2 bedroom townhouse. 2 bed upstairs, full bath. Main floor, kitchen, living room, half-bath, attached single car garage. Basement, unfinished, but painted, washer/dryer hook ups. Gas heat and hot water. small deck-shared with neighbor. Sits on 1.5 acre, woods and farmland around me. Its older, it has flaws but it works for me. Landlord lives about 5 mins away. 750 rents my daughters one bedroom apt about 600 sq ft

No pets though. This is northern Michigan, not the upper peninsula. Hell I could probably buy a house for what I am paying in rent, lots of foreclosures, people wanting out of their house because the economy is slow around here. But I am happy where I am and that counts for a lot. Gas and electric run around $100, +cable $65 for now. |

My rent is quite a bit more and doesn't include utilities, unfortunately. Then again, I'm living in Northern VA which is horribly expensive. My place is one of the cheaper ones, too. |

Some people just want to watch, and the emoticon or nothing post flags the thread...OC does it ALL the time. Who knows? I'd agree, but it's the same few people in lots of threads this morning. Perhaps it's a new game for them?

I agree with what Lilith had to say regarding the certified letter, etc. Sometimes you just have to go that route.
I guess I'm lucky on the rent issue. I've got a cute 2 bedroom, 1 bath house... with a new central heat & air unit, 1 car garage, concrete driveway (although it is cracked in a few places), fenced back yard, mature trees, landscaping, storm cellar for $325 a month. Then again, I am in small town Oklahoma. But it is a great community. Most everything I need (shopping & entertainment) is less than 5 miles away. |

Aww, thanks! I've been lurking a little, but not really posting. Been busy with work and life.

You think your landlord is bad...I charge people almost 600 dollars a month just to rent one of my rooms.
