Assumption Dispelled
She speaks in tear swept whisper Without a remorse Rebuking her teardrops She tries them to ignore. She listens to no one For matters concerned And speaks from her heart What she surely endures. I thought pain it engulfs her With confusion amiss, Denied without pardon Apart from her bliss, A heart torn asunder She weeps for a soul Yet the words from her lips Right the wrongs And cause me, her to adore. She speaks of a beast Met once in the dark That carried her off And then stole her heart, Such deep hidden beauty She saw in his eyes And heard what had caused The great pain in his sighs. He never saw light As he stumbled in pain Growing so inward And deeply in vain. Never could she save him But could she lead him away? Could she love him enough That he never would stray? She played on his heart As she called him by name Leading to light Less subtile than day, Somewhere in the doldrums Where light and dark feast Peering strange visage Of man, not a beast, Love brought them together When darkness had fled Happy ensued With tears that were shed. She speaks fond of the memories Without a remorse Rebuking the tears Once their loneliness bore. Fadedspirit 6/21/2009 |

Why do I feel like I'm reading a riddle, the answer well known, yet masked for the journey?

A Brave
A listening heart, and a glistening tear, comes into knowing, understanding her fear. Who is this brave, this knight going round? Watching, entreating, narry a sound. Eyes pensive, deep, riding his steed. Faithful and quiet Living proof is his creed. Raine Les 6/23/2009 |
