Dang skippy. Why is it that places where you aren't supposed to have a gun are the places were killing is the most prevalent? Schools, churches, etc. Yeah, I just love the thought of guns in my child's school. 
so you think because it is against the rules there are no guns there interesting very interesting why is some schools have metal detectors is that those that don't follow the rules have the guns thus leaving those that do o the mercy of those that don't those that give up their liberties for a false swnse of security deserve neither liberties nor security There will always be people who do not follow the rules. Is that a reason to allow guns in schools, though? Not to me. |

Question: How do you tell the difference between Democrats, Republicans, and Southern Republicans? The answer can be found by posing the following problem. You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges. You are carrying a Glock and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? Democrat's Answer: Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have an appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me and not my family? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have a paint and gardening day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior. This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus. Republican's Answer: BANG! Southern Republican's Answer: BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click...(sounds of reloading). It's a joke, people, because nobody thinks like he is portraying the Democrats here.

my 2 cents is....I don't think anyone is implying the kids arm themselves but maybe a security guard. there are schools that probably never will have an issue...but there are some where kids pass through metal detectors and involved in gangs, etc.
I wouldn't make the correlation from gun control to abortion though. |

The big public schools in my city have metal detectors at the school entrances. The smaller, private schools do not. I don't get the abortion correlation either. |

I went through private schools in Junior High....and in a lot of them around here....parents sent the kids there as a last resort to boot camp or something. your child is lucky to be where she is. and my son's public schools have always been great...but you never know when someone might snap |
