Took my 15 yr old son down to Mayor Summer Youth program so he could attend orientation for a summer job. He insisted on wearing a dress shirt & slacks (without me even suggesting it!) Upon entering City Hall he was a bit nervous so I accompanied him. He was one of the first 3 kids there...they were asked to help others with forms and such. He told me I could leave and we would meet up after. I looked back as I was waiting for the elevator. He was standing at the front tables passing out forms, shaking hands, giving directions, answering questions. The elevator came and went as I watched my little boy (all 6 feet of him), taking charge, helping out, setting examples and growing up!

that moment, every single detail of it...will always be in your heart and your mind's eye. every time you drive by city hall or walk into city hall...you will remember it as clearly as the day it happened!

What a gift our children are to us! What a gift you have been to him!

take some time and write the moment down...perhaps at his HS graduation, his wedding, his college graduation it would be a great moment to share with him again...

flowerforyou Doesn't it just warm you're heart yet break it at the same time when your lil boy grows up into a man. You have every right in the world to brag. You did an excellent jobdrinker

Thanks all!

I am proud of him, I am very blessed with great kids. It is rough sometimes...We live in a not so great neighborhood and I am so glad that they are falling into good categories.I sure hope when they're grown they work they're way out of Buffalo!

Looks like he took a leadership position right off. He will do well with that attitude.
