Want to buy US made products? BUY USA by watching for "0" at the beginning of the number. We need every boost we can get!

This may be useful to know when grocery shopping, if it's a concern to you.

The whole world is afraid of China-made "black hearted goods".

Can you differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China ?

If the first 3 digits of the barcode are 690, 691 or 692, the product is MADE IN CHINA.

471 is Made in Taiwan .

This is our right to know, but the government and related departments never educate the public, therefore we have to RESCUE ourselves.

Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products "MADE IN CHINA ", so they don't show from which country it is made.

However, you may now refer to the barcode, remember if the first 3 digits are:

690-692 … then it is MADE IN CHINA .
00 - 09 … USA & CANADA
30 - 37 … FRANCE
40 - 44 … GERMANY
47 ... Taiwan
49 … JAPAN
50 … UK

BUY USA by watching for "0" at the beginning of the number. We need every boost we can get!

This is information that was sent to me, but not checked out on SNOPES.

I have virgin coconut oil and the UPC starts with an 8. It is a product of the Phillipines. Which is good, because that's why I can get virgin coconut oil, which is better for the heart and doesn't chemically change when used in cooking like canola and olive oil do.

OR, you could look elsewhere on the label and find where it says "Product of the USA" or "Product of Phillipines" or whatever.

What exactly makes it "virgin" coconut oil? I've always wanted to know that.

I really hate to rain on ya'lls parade here but this is one of those e-mails that is all over the internet. And yet again with false pretense.

You see the first three digits of the bar code can indicate where the bar code was assigned to but not where the product actually comes from.

You see for excample if Mexico imports fruit from Guatemala and they package it and ship it somewhere else then the bar code would show you Mexico but not where it actually comes from.

Regardless what one thinks the best bet is to look for the Made in the USA or Made in China.

Not only did I look at the snoops site but a few more as well and they all confirmed the BAR CODE DOES NOT MEAN WHERE THE PRODUCT CAME FROM.

Again this is just and e-mail that is being passed around the internet that leaves many with false information.........................

what is the two numbers one to the far left and the other to the far right of the bar code mean?
