There are times when it has become a bit intrusive and annoying.

Generally, I just try to explain that I made a decision many years ago
that being a parent simply would not be a good option for me.

If they persist, I will explain a little about bad experiences I've had
dating women who had children, their expectations, the fact that these
women seemed more interested in acquiring a babysitter or a surrogate
father-figure for their kids rather than an actual relationship, per se.

There are people who SHOULD have kids, who have the kind of patience and
personalities to be effective parents, and I am glad that there are
people like that. But I am not one of them.

And 500 people telling me, "But you would make such a great father!"
will not alter the fact that I simply don't have a paternal bone in my
body.

My aunt and uncle never had kids and when they were asked why not, they
always replied they had 20 neices and nephews just on my uncle's (mom's
brother) side of the family. The rest of the family had their share, so
they weren't going to have any.

My adult children have decided not to have children.
They get alot of comments like: why, and oh but you would make
such a good parent, etc...etc...
I was'nt real happy about not being able to be a grandma-but
I have acceptted it. My kids don't have to offer up excuses for
anyone. They have made their choices for very good reasons and
I stand by them. Besides this world is getting pretty tough to
raise children in these days...

Although I'm young, I stand firm in my decision not to have kids. I just
don't desire it at all. They're cute but not for me.

Guys will say things like "We'll have pretty babies" or "I'll help you."
That doesn't make any difference to me.

I have a friend, who when somebody asks a nosey question says, "I didn't
tell you?" They say, "No." He says, "Well it's probably none of your
business then." laugh

I do have one daughter and I wanted a son, but, after age 25, decided I
didn't want anymore.

I don't have a problem at all telling people I don't want kids. I don't
want grandkids either.

I tell them like it is that my parents turned in my children and I had
my nephew from sunrise to midnight. Then I used to tutor the
neighborhood children for nothing. It is now time for me to take care of
me. I have to let the child in me out every now and then.laugh laugh
laugh I can be adopted by the right man if he comes along and we can
grow old, then go into our second childhood together.flowerforyou

I never married so no one ever asked me why I don’t have kids. (ha ha)

But I did not want to bring new life into this already overpopulated
world.

However, I did want to be a father and I was hoping to adopt several
children.

Unfortunately that never happened because I never married. Duh?

However, had I married and adopted children I’m sure people would always
be asking why we adopted instead of having our own. Or maybe they would
have just assumed that there was some medical problem. But such
questions really wouldn’t have bothered me. I would have just told them
the truth, I didn’t want to bring new life into an already
over-populated world.

It’s no big deal.

I did succeed in not brining any new life into the world. So even
though I never married and was never a father to adopted children, at
least I achieved my goal of not bringing anyone into this godforsaken
world.
